St. Patrick's Day Run: race details

A Message from the Race Director

Dear Athletes,

We are extremely excited to announce the Las Vegas St. Patrick’s Day Run that will take place on March 13th, 2021! This event was the last we were able to hold in 2020 and will be the first of many in 2021.

At BBSC Endurance Sports, we are committed to provide you with a professional, organized and fun race. We have developed an event plan that is focused on the safety of all athletes, volunteers, and staff. We will continuously update our safety and COVID-19 mitigation plan to stay in compliance with all national, state, and local protocols. This may include modifications to the courses, changes in start and finish processes, a mask mandate, and social distancing – all changes to create the safest possible race environment. Please take the time to review the prevention procedures on our website to keep yourself and fellow runners safe as we near race day.

In the following weeks we will communicate all details, schedules, maps, and procedures. In addition, we will be updating the race website with any changes to protocols as quickly as possible.

We look forward to welcoming you to the first start line of 2021. Happy Training!

Rowan Waldman

This race is historic and scenic. Taking place at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which is approximately 18 miles from Las Vegas and boasts amazing views as the largest man-made lake in the US. During the race, you'll run on the Historic Railroad Trail, part of the Rail-to-Trails Conservancy and National Park.

Half Marathon (31.1mi)

Begin at the Historic Railroad Trailhead and run WEST for 2 miles before turning around and coming back the way you came. Continue onto the Historic Railroad Trail going through the 6 tunnels until you reach the turnaround at the Hoover Dam, at which point you will head back to the finish line.

10K Run (6.2mi)

5K Course (3.1mi)

Start at the Historic Railroad Trailhead and run east on the Historic Railroad Trail for 1.55 miles and then head back the same way you came.

Rolling Start Line
This year we will be utilizing a rolling start system, starting individual runners at 5 second intervals. We will be starting the faster participants first designated by expected pace. The 5k will be going off first at 7:30AM, followed by the 10k and then the Half Marathon. We are using this format to space out runners on course, as well as lessen congestion at the start, finish, and parking areas.

More information on start times will come as we get closer to race day.
