Annual Annie Oakley & Buffalo Bill Wild West Triathlon

Shelby Farm, memphis, TN

June 29, 2024

race details

Triathletes and sports enthusiasts from throughout the region will put their athletic training to the test at the 8th Annual Annie Oakley & Buffalo Bill Wild West Super Sprint and Sprint Triathlons to benefit local cross country teams and area scout groups.

The races will begin and end at Trap Lake at Memphis’ Shelby Farms on June 29.

For the 2nd time, the fastest runner in women, men and relays in all four races will be awarded $100 each. All participants will each receive a chance to win a Giant bike and bike gear, compliments of sponsor Bikes Plus. Participants must be present to win.

The event includes four races: an all-women super sprint triathlon, an all-women sprint triathlon, an all-men super sprint triathlon, and an all-men sprint triathlon. The first race begins at 6:30 a.m. All other runs will follow back-to-back on the same day.

The event name is a nod to the buffalos that graze at Shelby Farms and its proximity to a shooting range. Annie Oakley was an American sharpshooter and became a renowned international star who entertained and traveled with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show through the turn of the century.
